Urban Company Limited, known for its home services platform, reported a significant loss of ₹59.3 crore for the second quarter of FY26, ending September 30, 2025. This loss contrasts sharply with a profit of ₹7 crore in the previous quarter and a smaller loss of ₹1.8 crore during the same period last year. The company attributed this downturn primarily to substantial upfront investments in its new service vertical, Insta Help, which focuses on providing quick cleaning services. The adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹44 crore from Insta Help contributed to an overall adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹35 crore for the quarter.

Despite the operational challenges, Urban Company reported a 37% growth in consolidated revenue, totaling ₹380 crore, and an impressive 34% increase in net transaction value across its platform, surpassing ₹1,000 crore. The domestic consumer services segment, which constitutes nearly 70% of total revenue, saw a positive adjusted EBITDA of ₹18 crore when excluding Insta Help. However, the company experienced a contraction in margins, which fell by 70 basis points year-on-year to 2.4%, as it invested heavily in areas like user acquisition and service professional training.

Insta Help, launched in February 2025, has started to gain traction with 468,000 orders recorded in October 2025, achieving an average order value of ₹184. The management aims to expand its reach across major metropolitan areas in India, focusing on high-density residential clusters. While the company is still in the early stages of scaling Insta Help, it is actively investing in onboarding and training service professionals to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. The results reflect Urban Company's commitment to growth, despite the immediate financial setbacks associated with its strategic investments.
