Urban Company Limited, formerly known as UrbanClap Technologies, reported a ₹59.3 crore loss for the second quarter of FY26, a stark contrast to the ₹7 crore profit from the previous quarter and a loss of ₹1.8 crore in the same period last year. The company attributed this downturn primarily to significant upfront investments in its newly launched service vertical, Insta Help, which focuses on providing quick cleaning services. This vertical alone contributed to an adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹44 crore, pushing the overall adjusted EBITDA loss to ₹35 crore for the quarter.

Despite the losses, Urban Company’s consolidated revenue from operations surged by 37% year-on-year, reaching ₹380 crore. The net transaction value (NTV) of all orders on its platform also grew by 34%, exceeding ₹1,000 crore. The company's largest segment, which encompasses consumer services in India, accounted for nearly 70% of total revenue and showed a positive adjusted EBITDA of ₹18 crore (excluding Insta Help). However, the company's margins contracted by 70 basis points year-on-year to 2.4%, as it continued to invest in training, audits, and customer support to drive growth.

Insta Help, launched in February 2025, has been active in select micro-markets across major cities, including Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. The service recorded 468,000 orders in October 2025, with an average order value of ₹184. This performance is notable as Urban Company’s Indian consumer services business took 4.5 years to reach a similar scale. The management expressed confidence in scaling Insta Help further, focusing on network densification and professional onboarding, while also implementing selective discounting strategies to enhance customer trials.
