Urban Company Limited, formerly known as UrbanClap Technologies, reported a significant loss of ₹59.3 crore for the second quarter of FY26, ending September 30, 2025. This marks a stark contrast to the profit of ₹7 crore recorded in the previous quarter and follows a loss of ₹1.8 crore during the same period last year. The company attributed its financial setback primarily to upfront investments aimed at scaling its newly launched service, Insta Help, which provides cleaning professionals for quick services. The adjusted EBITDA loss for the Insta Help segment alone reached ₹44 crore, contributing to an overall adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹35 crore for the quarter.
Despite the losses, Urban Company saw a 37% increase in consolidated revenue, reaching ₹380 crore year-on-year, with the net transaction value (NTV) from all orders exceeding ₹1,000 crore. This growth was bolstered by significant demand in both domestic and international markets, where the company's consumer services segment, accounting for nearly 70% of total revenue, reported a positive adjusted EBITDA of ₹18 crore when excluding the Insta Help impact. Notably, the international business revenue surged by 66% to ₹41 crore, with strong performance noted in the UAE and Singapore.
Urban Company is in the early stages of expanding its Insta Help service, which was launched in February 2025 and has since recorded 468,000 orders, reflecting a growing demand for fast cleaning solutions. The average order value stood at ₹184, and the company aims to enhance its network in high-density residential areas across major metropolitan cities in India. As Urban Company focuses on increasing customer acquisition and service quality, it plans to continue investing in training and onboarding for service professionals, indicating a strategic emphasis on long-term growth despite current financial challenges.
