Lloyds Engineering Works Limited (LEWL) has secured a significant contract valued at ₹613 crore and €18.26 million for a 4.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) Pellet Project from the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) at its IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal. The company, in partnership with Primetals Technologies India Pvt. Ltd and Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH, will undertake the design and execution of the pellet plant complex. The project is expected to be completed within 39 months from the effective date of the contract, highlighting the consortium's commitment to meeting tight deadlines in the engineering sector.
This contract is a testament to LEWL's growing reputation as a reliable engineering partner within India’s industrial landscape. Over the past two years, the company has successfully formed over 10 collaborations with domestic and international firms, which have expanded its technical capabilities and positioned it for larger projects. The partnership with SAIL, one of the largest steel producers in India, exemplifies LEWL's ability to leverage these collaborations into high-value industrial contracts, further solidifying its standing in the market.
As part of this consortium, LEWL will handle detailed design and engineering and supply critical process equipment for the pellet project. Mr. Shreekrishna Gupta, the Wholetime Director, emphasized that this order reflects the industry's confidence in the company's technical expertise and execution reliability.
