Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Limited (KMEW) made significant strides in the maritime sector by securing Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹1,560 crores during the India Maritime Week 2025, held from October 27th to 31st at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. This event, backed by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, served as a vital platform to foster collaboration among stakeholders in the maritime ecosystem, showcasing India's leadership in areas such as ports, shipping, logistics, and sustainable development.

The MoUs signed with the Mumbai Port Authority, V. O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, and Maharashtra Maritime Board encompass a range of services within the maritime industry. Key components include the operation, maintenance, and technical management of six conventional harbor tugs for seven years, as well as one battery-operated harbor tug for fifteen years. Additionally, KMEW will provide two dock tugs and two security patrol boats, underscoring its commitment to enhancing maritime safety and efficiency while supporting India's vision for a greener maritime sector.

KMEW's CEO, Sujay Kewalramani, emphasized that these partnerships signify more than mere commercial agreements; they represent a dedication to the transition toward a sustainable and competitive maritime sector. He noted that the recent letters of intent for green and conventional tugs further align KMEW with national sustainability goals. As KMEW continues to evolve from a small ship-repair unit to a major player in marine engineering, it aims to become a billion-scale enterprise, driven by a team of dedicated professionals and a robust order book from prestigious clients including various port trusts and the Ministry of External Affairs.
