JK Lakshmi Cement Limited (JKLC) has announced ambitious plans to expand its production capacity to 30 million tons by FY 2030. Currently operating at 18 million tons, the company aims to achieve this target through a series of strategic expansions, including the commissioning of a new grinding unit in Surat. The management discussed these plans during a conference call on November 7, 2025, where they outlined the timeline and capital expenditure associated with the expansion projects.

The expansion strategy includes a Durg Brownfield expansion that is expected to increase capacity to 22.6 million tons by FY 2028. Following this, JKLC plans to establish three Greenfield plants in Nagaur, Kutch, and Assam, each contributing approximately 3 million tons to the overall capacity. The projected capital outlay for the Durg expansion is around Rs. 3,000 crores, while financial details for the Greenfield projects are still being finalized. The company has already placed orders for all major equipment needed for the Durg expansion, with completion expected by March 2027.

During the call, management also highlighted their performance metrics, revealing a 4% EBITDA margin for non-cement revenue and discussing their geographical sales distribution, which has shifted to include 69% of sales from Northern markets. They project a total capital expenditure of about Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,200 crores for the current fiscal year, with sustained investments of Rs. 1,300 to Rs. 1,500 crores annually over the next two years. These expansions and strategic investments are expected to enhance JK Lakshmi Cement's market position significantly in the coming years.
