### HUDCO and IIM Calcutta Forge Partnership for Urban Development

On October 28, 2025, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC). This strategic partnership aims to enhance collaboration in training, education, research, and capacity building focused on urban development and social housing.

The signing took place between HUDCO’s Director of Corporate Planning, Shri M Nagaraj, and IIMC’s Director, Professor Alok Kumar Rai. This non-binding MoU will facilitate joint activities, including certificate courses, consultancy services, and fee-based projects, leveraging the strengths of both institutions.

HUDCO, recognized as a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise, has been instrumental in financing and promoting various urban development projects across India. Its initiatives encompass slum redevelopment, affordable housing, and infrastructure improvements, enhancing the quality of urban environments. Meanwhile, IIMC is esteemed for its contributions to education and management training.

The collaboration will focus on several key areas, including: 1. Short-duration training programs in urban management and municipal finance. 2. Capacity-building initiatives aligned with government programs. 3. Applied research activities addressing urban sector needs.

This partnership is set for an initial duration of three years, with annual reviews and the option for renewal. Both organizations are committed to pursuing joint funding opportunities to strengthen their initiatives.

As HUDCO and IIMC embark on this journey together, their combined efforts are expected to significantly impact urban development in India, paving the way for innovative solutions and enhanced governance.
