Gujarat Gas Limited has announced the appointment of Shri Manoj Kumar Das as its new Chairman, effective November 2, 2025. This decision was made by the Board of Directors in response to a directive from the Energy & Petrochemicals Department of the Government of Gujarat. Das, currently serving as the Chief Secretary of Gujarat, brings a wealth of experience to the position, having held various significant roles within the state's administration and governance.

Shri Manoj Kumar Das is a senior IAS officer from the 1990 batch, holding a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur. His expertise spans multiple sectors, including revenue administration, urban management, and disaster management. Prior to becoming the Chief Secretary, he has served in various capacities, including as District Collector in several districts, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad, and Principal Secretary for Industries and Mines, showcasing a diverse background that aligns with the operational needs of Gujarat Gas.

This appointment marks a strategic shift for Gujarat Gas Limited as it aims to strengthen its leadership under Das's guidance. Notably, there are no conflicts of interest, as none of the existing directors are related to him, ensuring a focus on governance and operational efficiency. With his extensive experience in public service and administration, Das is expected to provide valuable insights and direction to the company, which is a Government of Gujarat Undertaking and a part of the GSPC Group.
