Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. (GSFC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Manoj Kumar Das as its new Chairman and Director, effective from November 1, 2025. The decision follows a nomination by the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat, as stated in a letter issued on the same day. The company is now set to complete the necessary statutory procedures to officially induct Mr. Das onto its Board. This leadership change is anticipated to bring significant experience to GSFC, given Mr. Das's extensive background in public administration.

Mr. Manoj Kumar Das is a senior IAS officer from the 1990 batch and currently serves as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat. He holds a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur and has expertise in various sectors including revenue administration, urban management, law and order, and disaster management. His previous roles include serving as the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat and holding various district administrative positions. Additionally, he has experience in significant public sector undertakings, having served on the boards of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited and Gujarat State Petronet Limited, among others.

The appointment of Mr. Das is subject to the approval of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Board of GSFC. Importantly, he is not debarred from holding directorship by any SEBI order, nor is he related to any existing director or key managerial personnel within the company. As GSFC prepares for this leadership transition, stakeholders are optimistic that Mr. Das's diverse skill set will contribute to the company's growth and strategic objectives in the fertilizer and chemicals sector.
