Manoj Kumar Das has been appointed as the Chairman and Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC), effective November 1, 2025. His appointment comes as a replacement for Shri Pankaj Joshi, IAS (Retd.), and has been confirmed through a letter from the Government of Gujarat's Energy & Petrochemicals Department. This transition marks a significant change in the company's leadership and will require the completion of statutory procedures to formally induct Das onto the board.

Shri Das is a seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1990 batch and currently serves as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat. With a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in various administrative roles including District Collector and Principal Secretary across multiple departments. His extensive background in public service includes significant positions in urban management, disaster management, and as Joint Managing Director of the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC).

Das's appointment is subject to the approval of GNFC's Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors, and the company's shareholders. The announcement highlights that he is not disqualified from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority, ensuring a smooth transition at the company's helm. As GNFC continues to grow in the fertilizer and chemicals sector, the leadership of Manoj Kumar Das is anticipated to steer the company towards further development and success.
