Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has officially announced the appointment of Shri Manoj Kumar Das, IAS as the new Chairman and Director of its Board, effective November 1, 2025. This decision follows a directive from the Government of Gujarat's Energy & Petrochemicals Department, which replaces former Chairman Shri Pankaj Joshi, IAS (Retd.). The announcement was made in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulations, ensuring transparency in corporate governance.

Shri Manoj Kumar Das brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat. With a background as a 1990 batch IAS officer, he holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur and has extensive expertise in various sectors, including urban management, disaster management, and law enforcement. His previous positions include roles as District Collector in multiple regions and Joint Managing Director at Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. His diverse experience is expected to bolster GNFC's strategic direction and operational efficiency.

The appointment is contingent upon further approvals from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors, and the shareholders of GNFC. As per the communication, Shri Manoj Kumar Das is confirmed to be in good standing and not barred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority. With this leadership change, GNFC aims to navigate the evolving landscape of the fertilizer and chemicals industry while adhering to regulatory frameworks and enhancing stakeholder value.
